On November 30, Eventful Moments, in association with the Air Museum, will host a Fun Family Day, offering an exciting experience for all ages.
The event will start at 10:00 and continue until 15:00 at the South African Air Force Museum on Forest Hill Drive, Gqeberha, with fun and engaging family-friendly activities that raise funds and awareness for the Air Museum, while promoting aviation heritage and inspiring future generations.
According to the Eventful Moments co-founder, Elize Greeff, “Eventful Moments aims to help organisations and schools raise funds while creating unforgettable, family-friendly experiences. Our goal is to unite communities, foster connections, and make a lasting impact.”
Greeff added, “The event aligns with the museum’s mission to preserve aviation heritage. We aim to raise funds to support the SAAF Air Museum, promote heritage awareness, and encourage families to explore and appreciate aviation heritage.”
Attendees can look forward to a vintage display of classic cars and bikes, as well as a kids’ zone where they can enjoy activities such as face painting, a meet and greet with Bluey mascots, and interactive kids’ entertainment.
There will be some great stalls available, ranging from refreshments, food, pastries, antiques, and toys for kids.
“SAAF Museum PE is a registered NPO and receives no funding from the government. We are self-sustained, and all donations raised for the Museum are utilised to maintain the SAAF Museum PE grounds and building. The heritage of our museum needs to be protected for future generations,” said Greeff.
The support of the community is needed for this event because it preserves aviation heritage, fosters local engagement, enables restoration and education, and inspires future generations to pursue aviation. Greeff added, “Together, we can make a difference.”
As local engagement is an important factor in the success of the event, the organisers have created an inclusive space where families and friends can bond, create memories, and enjoy a fun-filled day.
Greeff added, “Attendees will also discover and learn about aviation heritage through historic aircraft displays, vintage aviation equipment and artefacts, interactive flight simulators, and guided tours of the museum’s aircraft collection.”
With this event, Eventful Moments hopes to connect family and friends through interactive experiences, foster interest and curiosity in the aviation and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields, and strengthen community bonds while creating lasting memories.
