CENTRAL Acemates retained their position at the top of the PELFA Old Buck Gin League table after a resounding 4-0 win over NMBM last week.
NMBM had a few shots at a goal, but most went wide of the target. For Acemates, Melikhaya Mdlalo netted two goals and Malibongwe Sobikwa another in the first half.
Anele Madosi scored Acemates’ fourth, 15 minutes into the second half.
The second-placed Callies whipped Shamrocks 7-2 in their match. Callies led 4-1 at half-time, thanks to goals from Dillon Germshuys, Kurt Petersen and Craven Maree.
Siven Naidoo got another goal on the board for Shamrocks in the first half. Bubble Naidoo also pulled a goal back for Shamrocks early in the second half, before Petersen scored another two for Callies and Germshuys the last.
Mahle Old Grey also scored a feast of goals, thrashing St Albans 6-1. Goals from Kagan Assam and Donovan Humphreys saw Old Grey up 3-0 when the half-time whistle blew.
In the second half, Assam completed his hat-trick, while Jason Aitken and Julius Jogoo netted the fifth and sixth goals.
Kuyga Masters got the better of African Leopards 3-1. Thanduxolo Sinqe helped himself to a brace in the first half, while Andile McClean netted for Leopards early in the second half.
Enoch Chekure sealed the victory for Kuyga 23 minutes into the second half.
Finally, Fairview Rovers got the better of Priory, wining 2-0 with goals from Nathan Jones and Sharief Mamoojee.
