Kabega Park detectives are seeking the community’s assistance in tracing a 56-year-old man from Theescombe who went missing on Wednesday, 2 February.
According to Colonel Priscilla Naidu, police spokesperson, Carsten Jocksch, who resides on a smallholding in Kragga Kamma Road in Theescombe, left his residence at about 05:00 over two weeks ago, informing his friend that he was going cycling in the mountains in Groendal.
“Jocksch left in his grey Mercedes Benz, registration number CAA 133543. His phone has since been off. Jocksch was also in possession of his licensed 9mm Glock firearm,” Naidu said.
Enquiries were made at the Groendal hiking place and it was confirmed that Jocksch had never registered to go cycling or hiking since his alleged disappearance.
“An appeal is made to anyone who may have spotted him or his vehicle or may know of his whereabouts to contact SAPS Kabega Park, D/W/O Bertus Blom on 082 442 1017 or 041 397 6801 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or the nearest police station.”
