Brothers win prize for recycling project

Kian Olivier (Grade 5) and his brother, Zuan (Grade 3), from Charlo Primary School, received the first prize for their plastic recycling project in a competition by The African Youth Waste Network (AYWN) in partnership with Pick n Pay School Club. They used recycled bottle tops to create a floating flower which floats on the water in their swimming pool. Bees that land in their swimming pool would then climb onto these bottle top flowers and it would prevent them from drowning. Photos:SUPPLIED
