A man has died after running across the N2 freeway and being hit by a VW light delivery vehicle this morning, May 4.
Police spokesperson, Capt. Sandra Janse van Rensburg, said that the man allegedly ran across the road just before the Gelvandale off-ramp in the direction of Deal Party at approximately 09:30.
“The driver of a
VW LDV was unable to avoid the man, thus colliding with him as he ran across the
road. The pedestrian died on the scene. He is unknown at this stage,” Janse van Rensburg said.
The man was wearing “flip flop” sandals with a grey and white tracksuit pants and a
maroon tracksuit top.
SAPS Mount Road detectives are investigating a case of culpable homicide. The investigation is ongoing.
