Rain is expected over most of the Eastern Cape from Thursday
to Friday.

This is according to Garth Sampson from the PE branch of the South African Weather Service.

“Significant falls are expected over the Western half of the province from Thursday evening to Friday morning,” Sampson said.

These significant falls will start over the Eastern half of
the province on Friday.

“Over the Langkloof, the main catchment of the Nelson Mandela Bay’s dams, we
expect around 20mm to 30mm in places.

“Although there are rumours and prank messages of flooding in
areas around the Bay, at this stage none have officially been issued,” Sampson added.

He did say that there could, however, be warnings issued later as they monitor the approach of the system.

“Please do not redistribute these fake messages. Besides
being illegal, it fuels the fires, which is the prankster’s goal.

“Listen to the radio or visit the SAWS website for the latest
updates and official warnings.

“We are in a water crisis, so please use water sparingly,” he concluded.
