After suffering a heart-breaking defeat, the Cillie rugby team will be looking forward to getting back on the winning path on their home ground on Saturday.

Cillie is taking on Itembelihle and, although the supporters will appreciate another spectacular match, they will probably be hoping it is not another thriller.

Bergsig beat Cillie 24-20 by scoring the winning try in the final minute of this nail biter.

Graeme College and Grey will be playing in Makhanda after both teams were on the winning side this past weekend.

Grey had to work hard to beat Queen’s College 28-13 and Graeme got the better of Volkskool, winning 27-15.

Although both were well deserved winners, Graeme and Grey would like to step up a notch in the upcoming encounter.

It wasn’t Graeme’s best performance and the Grey captain, Ivan Ingram, was quick to point out that his team’s discipline has to improve going forward.

The big moment at Grey, though, was when the main field was renamed the Kolisi field, in honour of Springbok captain, Siya Kolisi, who left Grey in 2009.

“It is such an honour and we wanted to win the first match,” Ingram said, when asked about being the first winning captain on the renamed field.

He added that his team did “some stupid things” against Kingwood and will be looking to stay more composed in their next match.

After winning a tough match against Kingswood College in Makhanda, Framesby will play against Marlow in what should be an interesting encounter in Cradock.
