Approximately 15 people injured after alleged negligent driving leads to crash

SAPS Kabega Park detectives are investigating a case of reckless or negligent driving after a collision between a minibus taxi and a Toyota Hilux bakkie left approximately 15 people injured last night, May 21.

SAPS Kabega Park detectives are investigating a
case of reckless or negligent driving after a collision between a minibus taxi and a Toyota Hilux bakkie 
left approximately 15 people injured last night, May 21.

The accident occurred at the corner of Cape Road and Papenkuils Road.

Police spokesperson, Capt. Sandra Janse van Rensburg, said that at about 17:30, a taxi was
travelling in Cape Road towards Westering and as it approached the
intersections at Cape Road and Papenkuils Road, a white Toyota Hilux bakkie
allegedly made a U-turn in front of the taxi.

“Both vehicles collided,
resulting in the taxi overturning. Several  passengers in the taxi
were injured and taken to various local hospitals. 
A case of reckless or negligent driving is under
investigation,” she said.

asked to contact SAPS Kabega Park on 082 302 6159 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111. They can also visit the nearest police station or send information via the MYSAPSAPP. All
information received will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to
remain anonymous.
