In the build-up to Christmas Day, The Bridge Shopping Centre in Newton Park was decorated by retired ladies with hearts of gold from in and around Gqeberha. These ladies knitted a teddy bear Christmas tree for the centre.
The teddies are displayed on the big Christmas tree at The Bridge Shopping Centre, on the Bridge Level.
According to The Bridge’s marketing manager, Nicky Dickson, “The teddy bears will be donated to Giving Gifts of Love to Newborn Babies in Need in Port Elizabeth.”
The knitting groups include ladies from the Buffelsfontein Retirement Home, the Methodist Church in Newton Park, the Friends from Sunridge Home, the Busy Beez knitting group, and the Bible Society of Port Elizabeth.
Dickson added, “Giving Gifts of Love to Newborn Babies in PE is an organisation that supplies newborn babies with love and support. They also support abused babies and children.”
