Four months after a double murder rocked the community of Helenvale, police are still trying to hunt down the suspects and require the community’s assistance.
In the early hours of the morning of April 1 this year, the bodies of two men were found in Stoffels Street between Voisen Street and Deverell Street. Wilfred Botha (31) and Ricardo Kekana (32) had both sustained gunshot wounds to the head.
Police spokesperson. Col. Priscilla Naidu, said that the men were allegedly working as car guards and were on their way to work at approximately 05:00 when the incident took place.
“The suspect(s) and motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage,” Naidu said.
The Provincial Organised Crime Investigation Unit is appealing to anyone who can assist them in their investigation or with tracing the suspects, to contact D/Sgt.
