It has come to the PE Express’s attention that a woman is allegedly going around offering people so-called advertising opportunities in PE Express if they buy jewellery from her for charity.
PE Express has no affiliation with this woman and is under no circumstances involved with her.
A reader alerted PE Express about the scam and said that the woman, known only as Cindy, tells potential buyers that the jewellery she sells is in support of various cancer charities. The ‘deal’ that she allegedly secured is that for every two sets purchased, the company name will appear in PE Express twice.
According to the reader, Cindy had no paperwork or invoices for this ‘deal.’
“She is using the names of these programmes/initiatives for nasty, ill-intended purposes,” the reader said.
EP Media Publisher, Bettie Giliomee-Rossouw, said that PE Express has not given permission and will never give consent to anyone, other than an employed advertising representative of the company, to sell advertising on its behalf.
“This is fraud and I would like anyone with information to come forward so that criminal charges can possibly be laid,” Giliomee-Rossouw said.
Numerous attempts by PE Express to call Cindy using the number provided by the reader proved futile as her phone went directly to voicemail.
