Almost a year after his arrest, alleged wife murderer, Arnold Terblanche, might have another shot at freedom.
This after his appeal against the ruling of no bail by the Gqeberha Magistrate’s Court succeeded in the Gqeberha High Court this morning, October 4.
Terblanche, one of the three men accused of murdering his estranged wife, Vicki, has been denied bail twice by Magistrate Kriban Pillay. During the most recent bail rejection that was based on so-called new facts, Pillay ruled that Terblanche had no new facts as he was claiming.
This ruling was overturned in the High Court today, which ruled that there may be a possibility of new facts. The matter was referred back to the Magistrate’s Court and his next bail application needs to be heard within the next seven days. He will also be allowed to present further evidence.

Terblanche and his co-accused, Vicki’s boyfriend, Reinhardt Leach and Dylan Cullis, face several charges after her body was found in a shallow grave in Greenbushes a year ago.
The three will be appearing in the Gqeberha Magistrate’s Court again on October 28 to finalise matters regarding a possible plea deal for Cullis.
In the meantime a date still needs to be scheduled for Terblanche’s third attempt at bail within the next seven days.
