SAPS Humewood have arrested a 32-year-old man on a charge of
murder after a passenger in a car was fatally wounded.
Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, said the
incident happened this morning in Forest Hill between 04:00 and 05:00 when the deceased was in
the car with three other men.
“According to information, the suspect was sitting at the
back of the vehicle when the passenger sitting next to him wanted to look at
his firearm. The suspect removed the magazine and
handed it to the passenger. After the passenger returned the firearm, the suspect
replaced the magazine and pulled the trigger,” said Janse Van Rensburg.
She added that a shot was fired hitting the deceased in the back of the head.
“The driver rushed the victim to the hospital; however, he
passed away on arrival. The firearm was not yet been recovered.”
The suspect will appear in court this week on a
charge of murder.
