A 28-year-old New Brighton man is in police custody after he allegedly murdered his elderly father yesterday afternoon, October 31 in Dubula Street.
Police spokesperson, Col. Priscilla Naidu, said that just before 13:00, police were informed that Mpumelelo Sizani (71) was fatally stabbed by his son after a quarrel between them.
“The nature of the argument is unknown at this stage. The suspect lived with his father. The elderly Sizani sustained three stab wounds in his chest,” Naidu said.
The suspect was arrested at the scene and is detained on a charge of murder. He is expected to appear in the New Brighton Magistrate’s Court soon.
