EnviroServ recently hosted its annual Aloes open day, aimed at creating awareness for the operations and educating on the company’s community life.

Learners, community leaders and members, and educators marvelled at the beauty of the newly constructed cell at the site.

The stakeholders were in awe of all the science and processes involved in waste management as operations manager, Sue Alcock, took the visitors through what it takes to operate the site.

The site tour, led by Alcock, took learners to the dams at the site, the leachate treatment plant, blending bunker and laboratory, as well as the weighbridge.

Isaac Human, who is responsible for human resources in the Eastern Cape region, shared employment opportunities available at EnviroServ while the community liaison officer, Zingisa Mabangula, took everyone through EnviroServ’s socioeconomic development and enterprise development programmes.

It was a day of new experience where stakeholders got to see what happens at EnviroServ.

Learners were accompanied by their educators, who expressed gratitude to EnviroServ for expanding the learners’ horizons.
