THE South African Red Cross Society in Gqeberha is gearing up for the Christmas season and will donate gifts to underprivileged children on Tuesday, December 6.
The hand out will take place at the Red Cross Society youth centre, located at 1 Qunta Street in KwaZakhele.
Red Cross Society public relations practitioner, Akhona Matshikiza, said that the organisation is challenging the community to come forward with food, toys, clothing and any other donation items, to provide for those who cannot afford them.
“There are many underprivileged children out there in our community that are in need of our attention and support, especially as we head into the festive season.
“Every gift, big or small, will go a long way and bring out a smile on a little one’s face this Christmas,” said Matshikiza.
Community members who wish to contribute can drop off donation items at the Red Cross Society office in Richmond Hill until November 30. Financial donations are also welcome.
Red Cross Society is a non-profit organisation that focuses on alleviating poverty and restoring human dignity.
