It’s the most wonderful time of the year – time for Arthur’s Christmas Wonderland again!

The 22nd edition of this festive season highlight opened on Saturday, November 26.

Arthur Muller and Darrelle Lee-Muller have their home decked out in lights, trees and numerous one-of-a-kind decorations once again, to share the joy of this time of year and get local residents into the Christmas spirit.

“It’s so wonderful to open our doors again,” said Arthur. “We have so many followers and are so blessed.”

This year’s theme is “The Old Rugged Christmas Tree”.

“The tree was thrown away; I saw the potential in it and restored it to its current glory.

“It’s decorated with blue and white lights and some old and new Christmas trimmings, with a glitzy ribbon,” said Arthur.

Those who have seen Arthur’s Christmas Wonderland before will know there are many things to look forward to, including quite a few unique trees, many decorations, the dinner table – which is at its best – and let’s not forget the music.

When asked what their least favourite and favourite things are about this time of the year, Arthur said, “We tend to miss our loved ones more and obviously we adore all the bling.”

This year’s headliner:The Old Rugged Christmas Tree.

Entry to Arthur’s Christmas Wonderland is R20 per person and all funds raised go to their chosen beneficiary. This year it’s Cheshire Home Summerstrand’s turn.

“Disabled people are often forgotten and we are celebrating a joyous time, where sharing and giving celebrates the real reason for the season: the birth of Christ, our Saviour.”

Their fund-raising target? R15 000, so every foot in the door will be appreciated.

After all, “giving is not just about making a donation, it is about making a difference” – and this is the driving force behind the fund-raising this year.

Arthur and Darelle are planning on having a quiet Christmas at home with friends. And, if all goes well, the magic of Wonderland will be back next year.

“A special thank you to our very talented artist and brand administrator, Yolande Geel.

“Your work and love for Arthur’s Christmas Wonderland is so appreciated,” he added.

Arthur’s Christmas Wonderland will be open again on Saturday, December 3 from 14:00 to 17:00. Entry is R20.
