The body of a man tied up with a belt and cello tape was discovered by a bush dweller in Schauderville this morning, December 3 at approximately 09:00.
The bush dweller was rummaging in the bushes looking for scrap in Grundling Street next to a school when he noticed allegedly noticed a big cream bag lying behind a tree and against the wall.
He opened the bag and found a body of a man already in a state of decomposition. The deceased had a belt around the neck, hands tied behind his back with another belt and his feet were bound with cello tape. The bag was also tied up.
Police spokesperson, Col. Priscilla Naidu, said that the bush dweller immediately alerted the community before running away.
“The deceased is an adult male and at the time of his demise, he was wearing a white T-shirt and a pair of blue denims. He is big in stature. A case of murder is under investigation. The postmortem will determine the exact cause of death,” Naidu said.
SAPS Gelvandale detectives are seeking the community’s assistance in tracing the next-of-kin.
