An excavator worth more than a R1 million has been stolen from a site in the vicinity of Joe Slovo yesterday morning, December 12.

According to police spokesperson, Capt. André Beetge, the excavator was rented out to a developer and delivered to the site close to Chatty Dip on Friday.

When the workers arrived at the site yesterday morning for work to continue after the weekend, the excavator was missing.

“There are rumours that someone with a load bed took the excavator. A case of vehicle theft is being investigated by KwaDwesi police,” Beetge said.
