According to Colonel Priscilla Naidu, police spokesperson, it is alleged that at about 09:00 on the mentioned date, Bernadette January walked out of the Louis Dubb Retirement Village in Kabega Park.

“According to police information, Ms January may have gone to the Summerstrand area in search of her son who is a vagrant and lives on the street. It is alleged that he is usually found on the beachfront. That was the last time anyone had seen her. Ms January is a diabetic and had not taken any medication with her,” Naidu said.

Police have been searching the beachfront area every day since she was reported missing and there is no sign of her or her son.

Anyone who may recognise her or may know of her whereabouts is asked to contact SAPS Kabega Park, D/Sgt Chimone Freeman on 041 3976801 or 082 302 6159 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or their nearest police station.
