The
DA Eastern Cape has elected new leadership during their Provincial Congress which took place at the Botanic Sports Club
in Graaff-Reinet.
Andrew Whitfield (MP) was elected as DA EC Provincial Leader, while Yusuf Cassim (MPL) was elected as EC Provincial Chairperson.
According to Werner Horn (MP) and
Bridget Masango (MP) –
DA EC Provincial Congress Presiding Officers, the election results were compliant with all DA election requirements and rules and the vote count proceeded without any queries or objections.
“The results were signed off by us, as presiding officers, as well as the candidates’ party agents. We thank all delegates for their participation and their compliance with the rules of our internal democracy.
“The DA also thanks the outgoing leadership for their sterling work and dedication to the party and we extend our congratulations to all duly elected candidates,” they said in a statement.
