The first in a series of FIFA23 tournaments, aimed at rebuilding the e-sport community in Gqeberha, will be presented by King Artistry, a local multimedia marketing company.

King Artistry is calling on everyone with a flair for FIFA23 that wants to test their ability in a citywide FIFA23 Tournament, hosted by the Fairview Action Arena (Mimosa Road, Overbaakens), on 1 April.

“Online tournaments are cool, but there is something special about the energy of having a real-life crowd watching you play and reacting to every goal, skill and goal-saving challenge,” said Mvume Ndimba, Creative Director at King Artistry.

“Our sponsors have given us some wonderful prizes and they will be awarded to the champion, runner-up and players’ player, where each competitor will be given an opportunity to do a post-elimination interview and asked to vote for one player who they feel exhibited the best attitude, sportsmanship, and overall performance in the tournament,” Ndimba added.

The winner of this tournament will automatically qualify for the champion of champions’ tournament, where the winner of each tournament in the series will be entered into an elite contest where the final winner will be named the champion of champions, in the city of Gqeberha.

Prizes to the value of R6 000 are up for grabs, including prizes sponsored by Sun International, CABLE & Co., and Takealot, and there will be a goodie bag raffled off on the day of the event.

“The Fairview Action Arena has partnered with King Artistry to host the tournament and will support the event with food stalls, a cash bar and a discount on court fees so those who do not want to watch the tournament can take advantage of the immaculate five-a-side football courts the FAA are known for.”
