Two people were shot and killed in unrelated incidents in Nelson Mandela Bay yesterday, March 27.
In the first incident just after 14:00 on the corner of Govan
Mbeki Street and Shepherd Street in North End, Ayanda Fulani (39) was getting
into his vehicle when four suspects allegedly jumped out of a silver Toyota Corolla and
fired multiple shots at him.
One of the suspects allegedly opened the door, removed a wallet or bag and fled in the Corolla.
Police spokesperson, Capt. Sandra Janse van Rensburg, said that Fulani died at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds.
“A case of murder was opened and is
under investigation. Anyone that can assist
with any information relating to the murder investigation, is asked to contact

In the second
incident, almost two hours later on the corner of
Uitenhage Road and Johnson Road in Zwide, SAPS KwaDwesi attended to a complaint and
on arrival they found a white VW Polo that collided with the barrier.
The
deceased, 25-year-old Zusakhe Nonyukela, was found in the driver’s seat with multiple gunshot wounds.
“The
motive for the shooting is unknown and the investigation is ongoing,” Janse Van Rensburg said.
