GQEBERHA’s favourite community event, the Beers & Bagels Fun Run, is making its much-awaited return.
Hosted by Zsports, this unique fun run offers a blend of fitness, camaraderie, and culinary delight. It’s scheduled for Saturday, June 24, and has an exciting new addition. The 2023 event introduces a nine-kilometre run for those seeking an extra challenge.
The starting whistle blows at 10:00. As participants line up at the start, each is welcomed with a freshly-baked bagel, courtesy of Jack’s Bagels. This is not just a tasty treat, but also a nod to the distinctive spirit of the event that combines fitness and fun.
Once participants have completed their chosen course, they can look forward to a rewarding finish. Ziggy’s, together with Jack Black, are providing a refreshing beer to all finishers.
The newly introduced nine-kilometre run adds a new dimension to the event, providing a more rigorous option alongside the traditional five kilometres, ensuring the event continues to cater to a range of fitness levels.
During the run CompRSA and Kaplan Blumberg have made arrangements to keep the participants hydrated. There will be water stations at various points on the course, ensuring that runners can quench their thirst and keep their energy levels up.
Once the last runner crosses the finish line there will be a prize-giving ceremony. A range of lucky draw prizes will be up for grabs.
