10 000 meals delivered to soup kitchens

Community Chest was chosen as the distribution partner in The Bridge and Rise against Hunger South Africa project. On July 4, The Bridge at Greenacres invited the public and corporates to take part in the packaging of meals, part of their Mandela Day initiative. “We distributed a total of 10 000 meals to three of our soup kitchens in the metro. They play an important role in feeding the vulnerable. This is the only meal for the day, for the majority of the beneficiaries,” said Colette Theron, marketing manager Community Chest.
