Nazareen Damon’s spiced beef stew

Ingredients

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 25 ml sunflower oil
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 kg stewing steak, cubed
  • 2 tomatoes, skinned and chopped
  • 1 packet Royco Chilli Beef and Green Pepper soup
  • 400 ml water
  • 420 g tin baked beans
  • 2 potatoes, peeled and quartered

    Preparation

    Step 1: Fry onion and garlic in the heated oil until softened. Stir in the stewing steak and brown. Add the chopped tomato.

    Step 2: Mix the soup powder with water and add to the stewing steak. Cover and simmer for 1 hour, season to taste.

    Step 3: Add baked beans and potatoes and cook for a further 20 minutes or until potatoes are cooked.
