Gqeberha man (51) fatally shot at entrance of local school

The Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes Unit are investigating a case of murder after Ryno Plaatjies (51) was shot early this morning, September 1 in Booysens Park.

According to police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, it is alleged that at approximately 07:54 Plaatjies was parked outside a primary school in Booysens Park after he dropped off his daughter who is a student teacher at the school.

She said that as the daughter was entering the school, multiple shots were fired.

According to a reliable source the school has been identified as Booysen Park Primary School.

“It is alleged that two suspects in a white Ford Bantam LDV were standing close to the vehicle, a black Dodge SUV that Plaatjies was driving and fired multiple shots at him. He died on the scene and the suspects fled in an unknown direction,” said Janse Van Rensburg.
