Immediate follow up on information received resulted in the recovery of a 9mm pistol and ammunition by East London K9 Unit and Duncan Village Vispol members during the early hours of Sunday, October 1.
Captain Hazel Mqala of SAPS said it is alleged that the firearm belongs to the suspect’s father. “The licence holder will also be facing charges of failing to safeguard his firearm, supplying his firearm to an unauthorized person and failure to report the loss of the firearm,” she added.
The arrested suspect (in his thirties) will appear before the East London magistrate court on Monday, October 2, on a charge of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition
