Even a bird like a Wagtail can enjoy the Annual Bonsai Show by sitting on top of a wild Gardenia.

If you pay a visit the Eastern Province Bonsai Society’s annual show this weekend, you will see trees that could be older than you, and ones that are just starting out.

Even the wagtail took time off to come and have a look last year.

Bonsai is a hobby for the whole family. They grow like children and age like parents.

Keep in mind, bonsai are not pot plants and must live outside. Wind, rain and sun are necessary for their growth. Yes, you can bring them inside for 48 hours so your friends can admire them; then put them back in their normal environment to recover.

The Annual Bonsai Show will be at the German Club in Lorraine Street, Lorraine on Saturday, November 11, from 09:00 to 17:00 and Sunday, November 12, from 09:00 to 15:30.

Different daily demos will be done by club members. Trees, pots, tools, wire and more will be on sale and there will be prizes to win in the raffle. You could even win a bonsai tree.
