At least three cattle were found severely injured, forcing arrangements for the local SPCA to euthanise them. Several cattle were also stolen from two smallholdings in Kinkelbos on Thursday, February 20.
Police are now seeking the public’s assistance in solving the stock theft incident.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, said the incident was reported to have occurred at around 07:00.
Elaborating on the case, Nkohli stated that, at this stage, police have recovered three cattle heads and some carcasses from nearby bushes.
“The total number of missing livestock is yet to be confirmed,” he added.
“A team of detectives and other specialized units are actively following leads.
“Police urge anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact the lead investigator at 079 896 7363. Information may also be shared via Crime Stop at 08600 10111.”
