Uncle Jumbo’s, a Christmas party for kids, has been around for over 50 years, and is back.
The show, hosted by Uncle Jumbo himself, includes some great interactive games for the kids, and Uncle Jumbo also invites a few special guests, like Noddy and friends, to join in on the fun. Cinderella, Snow White, Moana, and Belle, among other Disney princesses and characters, also make an appearance, to make it a magical night for the kids.
Parents are able to sit back and relax, while their kids have a ball.
There will also be some food stalls on site, including Mastertons, Kurt’s Kitchen, a pancake truck, and an ice-cream truck. Guests are more than welcome to bring along their own picnic baskets and blankets!
Santa also makes an appearance at the end of the show, bearing gifts for the kids. He hands these gifts out with the help of his elves. These gifts are bought by parents, and are discreetly handed in (wrapped, with the child’s name and surname on it), when they enter the gate and hand over their tickets.
Dates: The show will run from Wednesday, November 29, to Sunday, December 10, (excluding Mondays).
Time: On week days the show starts at 18:00 and ends at around 20:30, and on weekends it starts at 17:30 and ends at 20:30. Gates open 30 minutes before the show’s starting time, and guests are asked to allow for up to 15 extra minutes at the end of the show, as Santa may need a little extra time to hand out all the gifts.
Venue: The show will be hosted at the Hoërskool DF Malherbe (c/o 14th Avenue and Main Road, Walmer).
Cost: Tickets are R70 per child and R60 per adult. Children under the age of 2 can attend for free. Tickets may be purchased on Computicket. Note that tickets will not be sold at the door this year, so please purchase your tickets on Computicket. When you log on to Computicket, all you need to do is search for “Uncle Jumbo’s”, and you can choose which day you would prefer to come and watch the show.
