The SAPS Swartkops detectives are seeking the communities assistance in tracing the next of kin of two males that were found dead in unrelated incidents.   

In the first incident, on Friday, January 12 at approximately 14:48, SAPS Swartkops attended to a complaint at a depot in Old Grahamstown Road where a body was found covered on a dump of sand.

The deceased had visible injuries. He is unknown and was wearing black pants and tekkies with grey/navy white stripes. The body was already in a state of decomposition, a case of murder was opened.

In another unrelated case, on Friday, January 12 at approximately 19:07, SAPS Swartkops responded to a complaint  at Tiger Bay, Swartkops where  a body was seen  floating in the Swartkops river.

The body was retrieved by police. The deceased is unknown and was only wearing a grey tracksuit pants. An inquest was opened and is currently under investigation.

“Anyone who can assist in tracing the family of these persons or, is asked to contact SAPS Swartkops on 082 302 5807 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or the nearest police station or send information via MYSAPSAPP. All information received will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous,” Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg of SAPS concluded.
