SAPS Walmer detectives are investigating a culpable homicide case following an accident that happened earlier today, January 26 in Walmer Gqeberha.
According to police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, it is alleged that at approximately 09:45 the driver of a Hyundai Getz turned out of 6th Avenue into River Road direction Albany Road and a Toyota Etios was travelling in River Road towards Albany Road, it is further alleged that one of the vehicles did not stop at the red light and collided with each other.
“The driver (41) of the Hyundai Getz, passed away on the scene and no further serious injuries were reported,” she said.
A case of culpable homicide was opened and is under investigation.
