FANS watched what was described as the game of the season after Shining Stars edged out Strikers United 2-1 during Zwide Football Association (ZWIFA) Marina Sea Salt Premier League at Zwide Celtics Grounds on Saturday.

Stars defender, Zolani Makunga, was shown his marching orders for his misconduct to Strikers player in the 20th minute. ZWIFA Marina Sea Salt Premier League champions plied more pressure on Strikers with Patrick Gxowa scoring Stars opening goal in the 30th minute.

In the 50th minute, Strikers levelled the score at 1-1 after Stars defender Hlumelo Mango back pass beat his goalkeeper. Strikers forward Azola Vusani missed many goal scoring chances but Stars kept things tight at the back. As the game was about to end, Thando Nodada was rewarded with the beautiful goal that guided Stars to a hard-fought 2-1 over Strikers.

In another exciting game, Alaska overcame Khipu Major Chiefs 1-0 while Young Brothers emerged as winners over Everton FC in their 1-0 triumph. Umanyano Stars hammered Gal City 3-1, with Real Crusaders drubbing Sophakama FC 4-0 in their one-sided game. Amadamara FC handed Morning Stars a 4-0 defeat at Zwide Celtics Grounds on Saturday as well.
