EXCITEMENT abounds as baseball players from across the province, that previously graced the Eastern Province Baseball diamonds, gear up for a reunion on Saturday, March 16, at Londt Park.
Denny Transell, an EP and Red Sox Baseball Club member, said he has been playing for the past 40 years, has not missed a Masters Tour since 2006, and is looking forward to the opportunity of catching up with all the “blasts from the past”.
Pietie Carlson, ex-South African, Eastern Province, and Parks Baseball Club catcher, says he is looking forward to seeing everyone and having a nice “kuier”, as only baseballers can.
There will be newspaper clips on show, together with old trophies, some old baseball attire, and some old Pirates/Red Sox Baseball Club kit will be on display.
According to Terrence Gouws and Lionel Robson, the brains trust behind the idea, this can be a baseball/soccer reunion of all ball players, so come along on Saturday.
“Please bring those old baseball caps and attire, so we can put them on display for all to see, as baseball has developed over the years.”
