HOME supporters expressed great pleasure after their sides qualified to play in the Eastern Cape Super 14 Rugby competition semi-finals, following their victories during the quarter-finals on Saturday.

In the Eastern Province Rugby Union Conference it came as no surprise as the gutsy Kruisfontein RFC demolished Progress RFC 41–11 during their quarter-final match at Kruisfontein Rugby Fields in Humansdorp.

Enthusiastic rugby fans watched a game that produced thrills and spills when the Despatch Oostelikes RFC earned a narrow 29–25 victory over their gallant neighbours, Gardens RFC, at Daleview Sports Fields in Despatch.

The EC Super 14 Rugby Competition reigning champions, East London Police RFC – affectionately nicknamed Bobbies by their supporters –, proved beyond any reasonable doubt that they are the most unrivaled rugby side in the entire province.

The team embarrassed their opposition, Swallows RFC, 22–8 in their must-win quarter-final at the Border Rugby Union Conference at Police Park in East London on Saturday.

Nobody knew which side would emerge victorious in the battle of cats, but Young Leopards RFC booked themselves a berth in the semi-final as they registered a hard-fought 30–23 triumph over the gutsy Ncera Lions RFC at Police Park Rugby Fields.

The venue and date for the semi-finals will be announced as soon as possible.
