Cheryl-Ann Kannemeyer, who was a well-known local estate agent, was found fatally wounded inside her car at the couples’ home in Beetlestone Road, Gelvandale, on December 27, 2023.

According to information from the police, Colin Kannemeyer was found on the ground near the car, also with stab wounds to his upper body. The knife, which is believed to be the murder weapon, was found close by him.

Family members attended this morning’s court proceedings. Upon appearing in the dock, a tearful Kannemeyer looked at the gallery in search of his family. He blew a kiss at his son, Jody, who in turn reciprocated in the same fashion. He then proceeded to wipe the tears from his eyes.

Kannemeyer’s son, Dexter Kannemeyer, said to PE Express after today’s court proceedings “It’s the right thing to do. He needs to do the time for the crime he committed. We need closure”.

Kannemeyer remains in custody until his next court appearance on May 2.
