Eskom has announced planned power outages in parts of the Raymond Mhlaba Local Municipality to allow for essential maintenance and improvements to the electricity network.
According to Eskom, the interruptions are necessary to enhance system reliability, performance and energy security.
The first planned outage is scheduled for 17 June, from 07:00 to 18:00, and will affect Balfour and surrounding areas.
A second outage is planned for 18 June, from 05:00 to 19:00, and will affect Bedford, Adelaide, Fort Beaufort and surrounding areas.
In a notice to residents, Eskom said the maintenance forms part of ongoing efforts to improve the electricity supply network.
“The maintenance is necessary to enhance system reliability, performance and energy security,” Eskom said.
The power utility added that its teams will work to complete the maintenance as efficiently as possible and restore electricity within the scheduled timeframes.
