GQEBERHA – The Community Chest of the Eastern Cape is proud to officially launch the 2026 Winter Woolly Drive and is excited to announce Kelston Motor Group as the headline sponsor for this year’s campaign.
The Winter Woolly Drive remains one of the Community Chest’s longest-standing and most impactful community upliftment initiatives.
For nearly 30 years, the campaign has focused on collecting and distributing warm clothing, blankets, and essential winter items to underprivileged individuals and families throughout the metro.
The Community Chest extends its sincere gratitude to the many corporates, together with Kelston Motor Group, that have already come on board to support this year’s campaign.
Their generosity and commitment will play a critical role in helping provide warmth, nourishment and dignity to vulnerable communities across the Eastern Cape.
Supporting corporates include Absolute Projects, APL Cartons, Baywest Mall, Boardwalk Mall, Cadar Printers, Café Capellini, Dave’s World Design & Advertising, DG Capital, Engen Aerofill, Jack’s Bagels, King Fisher, Northfield Engineering, PE Express, Pick n Pay, S4, SJM, Sun Boardwalk, The Bridge Shopping Mall, Tucker-Davis Insurance Brokers, UD Express, and Walmer Park Shopping Centre.
Thanusha Pillay, Group Marketing Manager at Kelston Motor Group, says the Winter Woolly Drive comes at a time when many families across the regions they serve are facing particularly harsh winter conditions.
“As headline sponsor, Kelston Motor Group is proud to partner with the Community Chest of the Eastern Cape to support communities in need. Beyond essential donations, this initiative is about ensuring people feel seen, supported, and cared for when it matters most,” she said.
Colette Theron, Marketing Manager of Community Chest, said, “The Community Chest invites businesses, schools, organisations, and members of the public to join hands in making a meaningful difference this winter.
“Donations of blankets, warm clothing, non-perishable food items and financial contributions are all welcome and will directly benefit those most in need. Together, we can ensure that no one in our community faces winter alone.”
Nicolette Thomas, Publisher: EP Media, added, “PE Express and UD Express are thrilled to be part of the 2026 Winter Woolly Drive! Initiatives like these remind us of the power of community coming together for a shared purpose.
It is always a pleasure working alongside the Community Chest of the Eastern Cape — an organisation that continues to make a real and lasting difference in the lives of so many.”
