The N2 inbound between Bluewater Bay, and the Gqeberha Central Business District has been closed to traffic after rough seas and high waves pushed onto the roadway, bringing rocks and debris into the traffic lanes.

Traffic authorities are currently on site, managing diversions and assisting with the flow of vehicles while clean-up operations get underway to clear the affected section of road.

The closure comes as adverse weather conditions continue to batter parts of the Eastern Cape, with torrential rain, strong winds and freezing temperatures affecting road safety and visibility across the province.

Motorists are urged to remain extremely cautious, avoid unnecessary travel where possible, and obey all instructions from law enforcement officials on the ground.”
