GQEBERHA – An adult pedestrian was involved in a hit-and-run incident in Gqeberha on Sunday, 26 April, with SAPS launching an investigation into the matter.
SAPS spokesperson Captain André Beetge confirmed that a case of reckless and negligent driving was opened by SAPS Algoa Park.
“It is alleged that an adult male was struck by a white bakkie on the corner of Commercial Road and Rundle Street, Sidwell on Sunday, 26 April at about 16:10,” he said. “The bakkie did not stop and sped away.”
Beetge added that the adult man (pedestrian) was taken to hospital by ambulance.
“A case of reckless and negligent driving was opened and is being investigated by SAPS Algoa Park,” Beetge concluded.
