On Saturday evening, a fire engulfed a shack in the Qunu Informal Settlement, leading to the death of 33-year-old Natasha Swartz.
According to police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu, police responded to the incident at approximately 23:30, where they found the shack completely burned down.
“The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage, and police are investigating an inquest,” concluded Naidu.
