Motherwell-born bodybuilder, Thembelihle Mabangula, needs a helping hand to compete in the world championships in the Netherlands in June.
Mabangula, whose mother is unemployed, appeals to any individual to lend a helping hand for him to be able to pay the R45 000 needed to cover a visa, accommodation, catering, registration, and the associated costs to attend the world championships.
The road to stardom started in 2022 for Mabangula, because he loved bodybuilding for health reasons.
During the regional championships at Pieter Rademeyer Hall in Algoa Park in September 2022, he was crowned a champion.
In November 2022, he finished in the fourth position during the provincial championships in Algoa Park, and qualified for the national championships.
“I was not happy with my performance. I told myself that I had to work very hard.
“In essence, I practised a lot in order to achieve my goal. In September 2023, I finished in the third position.
“I was very delighted after I won the national light division title in Cape Town in November 2023. Hard work paid dividends for me.
“The only challenge is that my mother and I are not employed. I humbly appeal to any helpful hand to come to my rescue. I have to pay R45 000 for airfares. My contact number is 074 527 0719,” said Mabangula.
