THE Community Chest Winter Woolly Drive is in full swing, and has already shared the warmth in our metro. Just two weeks into the drive the Community Chest has reached out to many, especially those severely affected by the recent flood disaster.

Hinterveld has donated off-cuts of mohair pieces and yarn, and the community partners joined without hesitation in starting knitting and making warm blankets to share the warmth. Algoa Bay Council for the Aged (ABCA) and various old age clubs also came on board to assist.

“We are so proud of our senior citizens for giving of their precious time to help someone less fortunate. This campaign plays a vital role in our communities, where so many vulnerable families face huge challenges during the cold winter months with the lack of food, warm clothing, and blankets,” said Community Chest EC Marketing Manager, Colette Theron.
