The suspects involved in the alleged kidnapping of a Gqeberha doctor have made a ransom demand for his safe release.

Hawks spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Avele Fumba confirmed to PE Express that unknown suspects kidnapped the doctor outside his workplace in KwaZakhele on Monday, July 1, at approximately 14:45.

Further details about the ransom demand have yet to be made public.

Fumba, given the sensitivity of the investigation, declined to identify the victim. “At this stage, we cannot divulge much information due to the ongoing investigation.”

Fumba said that a specialised team had been assembled to follow the leads related to this incident.
