SAPS Algoa Park detectives are seeking the assistance of the public in tracing Calvin Naidoo (51), who was kidnapped outside his workplace in Korsten this morning, July 19.
According to police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, it is alleged that Naidoo stopped at his workplace at about 06:00 in Lindsey Road, in Korsten, when a Nissan NP200 bumped into his vehicle, forcing him to stop.
She said another bakkie stopped behind him, and five suspects wearing balaclavas got out of the vehicle.
“They took him out of his vehicle a, Mercedes Benz, and forced him into the bakkie and drove off,” she reported.
“The suspects left the Nissan NP200 and his vehicle a Mercedes Benz at the scene, and on investigation, it was confirmed that the Nissan NP200 was reported hijacked in Motherwell during June 2024.
“The motive for the kidnapping is unclear at this stage; however, a police investigation is underway.
Police are investigating a case of kidnapping and are appealing to anyone who can assist in tracing Mr. Naidoo to contact SAPS Algoa Park Detective Warrant Officer Errol Kleinhans at 083 243 4567 or Crime Stop at 08600 10111 or the nearest police station.”
