MISS South Africa 2023, Natasha Joubert, visited Hoërskool Cillié to promote body positivity and the importance of personal choice through the #FirstShave campaign.
The campaign aims at normalising body hair, and encouraging individuals to embrace their natural beauty, free from societal pressures.
During her visit, Joubert partnered with Boston and Tuition to open 15 additional higher certificate bursaries to students who participated in the #FirstShave campaign.
This partnership provides financial support to deserving students and aims at creating equal opportunities for education, empowering them to reach their full potential.
“Hoërskool Cillié was honoured to host Miss South Africa 2023, Natasha Joubert, and witnessed the positive impact of her visit on their students. The event highlighted the school’s commitment to inclusivity and empowerment, and the importance of promoting body positivity and self-acceptance,” said the school’s Public Relations Officer, Nkanyiso Ngubane.
It’s not an official visit from a beauty queen without a fun catwalk tutorial.
Joubert strutted down the long hallway, while the young ladies of the school cheered her on, with some even joining in on the fun. With their skills and beauty, who knows, the next big thing might just come from our very own shores!
“Through her visit and the #FirstShave campaign, Natasha Joubert sparked important conversations about normalising body hair and embracing individual choices. Her message of self-love and acceptance resonated with the students, and her partnership with Boston and Tuition has provided a valuable opportunity for them to pursue their educational goals,” Ngubane added.
“The campaign is about creating a safe space to speak on our first shave experiences, and how to always practise safe and hygienic shaving,” said Joubert.
