PORT Elizabeth East Football Association (PEEFA) clubs were on top of the world after Kasi Delivery’s sponsorship of their tournament this month, following the function that was held at Veeplaas Community Hall on Tuesday.

Kasi Delivery’s Head of Business Development Unit, Vuyani Kota, revealed that after a discussion with the PEEFA local executive committee (LEC) they decided to make a sponsorship possible to PEEFA.

Kota said they noticed that the majority of people watch PEEFA games in Veeplaas, KwaMagxaki, KwaDwesi, and Soweto at the weekends.

Kota explained that Kasi Delivery uses scooters to deliver food and parcels to the community and offers internet services. They also hold an annual food festival for the community which Kota stated they would hold this month at Funimfundo Primary School in Veeplaas.

According to Kota, the motive behind the sponsorship to PEEFA is to plough back into the community.

“We agreed with PEEFA LEC that we will make a sponsorship of R30 000 to PEEFA. As the company that conducts its business for the community, we decided that we should add value to the community,” said Kota.

PEEFA president, Luyanda Ncwadi, appealed to the clubs to co-operate with PEEFA LEC so that the tournament could run without hassle.

“The co-operation between the clubs and our LEC would make the tournament the right platform to attract scouts from Chippa United and Highbury FC. Since Kasi Delivery has a 12-month contract with us, we need to display high levels of discipline,” said Ncwadi.

PEEFA deputy president, Ndimphiwe Matshoba, thanked Kasi Delivery for making a huge difference to PEEFA.

“I would like to express our sincere gratitude to Kasi Delivery for uplifting the standard of our football,” said Matshoba.

The teams were grouped into four pools. The tournament will start with a round-robin format and will end in a knockout system.
