2024 Quilt Spring Show: Dias Quilters’ Guild will host the annual show in the VP Grey Primary School Hall in 1st Avenue, Walmer, on September 25 from 09:00 to 17:00, and September 28 from 09:00 to 12:00. Craft Market: The Linton Grange Library will host a craft market on September 26 from 09:00 to 15:00, and on September 27 from 09:00 to 13:00.

Night Carnival Market: African Sky’s Venue Night Carnival Market will take place at 120 Nassau Street, Theescombe, on September 27 from 17:00 to 21:00. Fantastic live music entertainment by Simon Shaw and a wide variety of stalls to choose from await. There will be kids’ entertainment by Simmy the Stilts Walker, with balloons and face painting. Beach Clean-up: The Algoa Bay Branch of WESSA will again participate in a beach clean-up during International Coastal Clean-up Month, on Saturday, September 28 from 09:30 to 11:30. Sustainable Seas Trust is the national co-ordinator of the events during September. International Coastal Cleanup Day brings volunteers and organisations together worldwide, during the month, to tackle the pressing issue of marine debris. The WESSA effort will take place at The Beacon in Summerstrand, at the intersection of Admiralty Way and Marine Drive. There is ample parking at the Beacon. Boot Sale: The Knights of Da Gama are holding their monthly boot sale on Saturday morning, September 28, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Grounds in Cape Road, Kabega Park. Site cost R60. East Cape Calligraphers: They will hold their monthly meeting on September 28 at 13:00, in the Westering Methodist Youth Lounge in Papenkuil Street, Westering. Books on the Lawn: The Children’s Feeding Trust Bookshop in the Walmer Town Hall, Main Road, Walmer, will have a R5 book sale on Saturday, September 28, from 09:00 to 13:00, on the lawns in front of the hall. A wide variety of fiction, as well as non-fiction, will be on sale. All money raised goes towards assisting vulnerable children in the Gqeberha area.

Art in the Park: A market will be held on Sunday, September 29, at St George’s Park, Central, from 09:00 to 13:00. At the market there will be craft, art, food and bric-a-brac, as well as live music. Stalls are free to charities and children. Children are encouraged to bring along for sale unwanted toys, books, and craftwork. Re-Seconds Market: The market will take place on Sunday, September 29, at Walmer Town Hall. There will be clothing, food stalls, home decor, antique collectables, and jewellery, as well as a jumping castle, live music, and a new kiddies’ section. Entry is free. Bring your own shopping bag. Market: Kabega Park Church is having a market on September 28 at 227 Great West Way Kabega Park, from 09:h00 to 14:00. There will be lots of homemade crafts, eats, a white elephant stall, second-hand books, and lots more.

Craft, Hobbies and Toy Fair: The fair will take place on September 28 from 08:30 to 13:00 at the Walmer Town Hall, Main Road. There will be loads of craft stalls, dolls, bears, painted pictures, and a collectable model car display, as well as tea, coffee, and goodies to eat. Entrance is R5. Proceeds go to Save-a-Pet.
