The Hawks have confirmed that the victim kidnapped in Korsten on January 19 has been safely reunited with his family. Meanwhile, the investigation into the second victim kidnapped on 18 January in Sidwell is still ongoing.
According to Hawks spokesperson, Avele Fumba, the successful resolution of the investigation into the businessman kidnapped on January 19 in Korsten can be attributed to the pressure applied by the police throughout the operation.
“The pressure exerted by the police led to the victim’s release,” said Fumba.
He further mentioned that the investigation into the kidnapping of the businessman in Sidwell on January 18 is ongoing.
“We appeal to the public for assistance regarding the second kidnapping case.
Any information, no matter how small, will be highly appreciated,” said Fumba.
He added that any details provided by those who come forward will be handled with utmost confidentiality.
